Today, September 22nd, 2023, Chasing Fae officially has circulated over 20,000 copies to the world! When I started working on the worldbuilding for this project back in 2018, I never would have imagined that this story would have blown up like this. As a young writer, I had dreams of being a major success and people reading and loving my stories all over the world. I had no earthly idea that I would reach this point after only a little over three years of being a published author. It has been a whirlwind from start to finish.
Chasing Fae was originally an idea that I wrote to deal with the loss of an important person in my life, but as I was writing the first draft in 2019, it became so much more than that. Grace's voice started to tell me so much more about herself and the journey that she was on, and I knew I just had to get it all down on the page. The Chasing Fae Trilogy will always hold a special place in my heart, not only because it is my first complete series, but also because of the amount of creativity and love that I poured into the project. The Three Realms were a labor of love, and I still know every little detail of the Twelve Noble Houses inside and out (including info that didn't make it to the books!). Over the course of the series, Grace grew from a quiet, introverted, stubborn woman trying to avenge her brother's death to a strong, stable leader who finally learned how to trust people other than herself. I think I have personally grown a lot as a writer and an author alongside her, and I know I have so many more stories to tell.
I want to say a big thank you to my readers, many of whom have been with me since the very beginning. It means a lot to me to hear your praises of my work and to receive little notes from you from time to time. I always love talking with you all, and I have loved answering emails and social media messages with questions about the storyline or when the next book is coming out. Thank you to those who have connected with me and those who have yet to connect with me personally, but still feel so incredibly invested in my stories. You are equally adored by me. I also want to say a huge thank you to New Degree Press, the original publisher of Chasing Fae. You believed in this book enough to give me a shot, and the lessons you taught me about the publishing world allowed me to build my own press and expand my horizons as an author so much farther than I thought I could. Thank you as well to my cover designer, Milan Krstevski, for continuing to work with me on this series' covers after I started producing books on my own. I love working with you, and I look forward to continuing to do so in the future. Thank you to C.S. Ratliff, a wonderful author friend and the cover designer for the original Chasing The Past cover before the new cover was created by Milan. You allowed me to put out my short story collection for a fraction of the cost and get new content out immediately in 2021. Thanks to my editors at New Degree Press as well as Angela R. Watts and Beth Hale who worked on Chasing War and Chasing Fae edits respectively. There are so many more people that I could thank: my family, my partner, my writer friends, the book bloggers who got me my first reviews, etc. But I will get longwinded if I continue to do so, so please know that I love and respect you all greatly.
What will the next milestone be? 50,000 copies? Who knows! If you haven't read Chasing Fae, you can grab a free copy at most retailers here.
